Joya Public Art is an organization focused on bringing public spaces to life by way of community driven mosaic tiling and fused glass art installations. Led by artists Joani Rothenberg and Yael Buxbaum, Joya’s mission is to provide works of art that will be enjoyed for years to come, while simultaneously celebrating arts ability to bring people together and strengthen communities.

The true beauty of these projects can be found in the stories of the people engaged in the creative process. The community involvement can entail placing a tile, suggesting visual ideas, or simply showing support for the project. Contributions from others transforms the art display from a simple installation into a meaningful and lasting part of the community.

The process of creating a mosaic piece begins with conceptualizing the projects vision and purpose. From there, Joya thoughtfully conceives of the images, symbols, patterns, colors, media, and themes that will powerfully uncover the projects destination.

Rothenberg is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, while Buxbaum calls the Netanya region of Israel home.
